The Subconscious Mind is a Very Powerful Tool The subconscious mind is a very powerful tool used in steering your day to day happiness level. The ability to overcome any weakness is within your abilities. Some call it will power, some call it faith and some may say they are just lucky. For sake of length to this article, I’ll call it “prayer”. Whether to yourself or to your God, the act of prayer is taking ideas and impressing them upon your subconscious mind.
In the bible, Proverbs 3, 1-8 explain this theory rather candidly, “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart, so you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.”
First you must make the choice to be happy. If you enjoy being miserable and the attention it brings to you from others, this may not work for you as you will always permit its return by projecting blame elsewhere. “My husband won’t let me do that. My arthritis keeps me down. My business is failing. I am always late…” The list goes on forever and these negative excuses will only breed more negativity. Ralph Waldo Emerson was on to something when he said, “A man is what he thinks all day long.”Now, if you truly want to make a conscious effort and improve your happiness you need to tell your mind, or pray to your God so your desires are known. When you trust the power of your subconscious mind (or trust in your God) to lead and direct your ways – you are building the framework for happiness.
